Biography

California guitarist Jeff Devine, a graduate of Biola University (La Mirada, CA) and California State University at Fullerton, released his first solo guitar CD in 2001, a collection of sacred favorites entitled "Softly and Tenderly: Hymns for Guitar". His second CD, "Simple Gifts" was released in September 2007.

As a student of David Grimes at CSUF, Jeff earned his Master's degree by transcribing and arranging music of German lutenist Sylvius Leopold Weiss (1686-1750) for the classical guitar.

Devine, an ASCAP member and songwriter, has lived in Lompoc, CA since 1991, serving as full-time Worship and Music Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Vandenberg Village. In addition to planning and directing the worship services each week, he leads rehearsals for the church's various vocal and instrumental ensembles, often writing and arranging music for them.

He is also an adjunct music faculty member at the Lompoc Valley campus of Allan Hancock College, where he teaches guitar classes.
